CASTING CALL: Actors + puppeteers wanted for new comedy web series in Clanton—auditions start May 1

Rather Irregular Productions, an independent entertainment studio, is looking for actors and puppeteers to audition for a new comedy web series. Lacking experience in those categories? No problem! Instruction for both will be provided for those who want to learn. Keep reading for more details.

Your time to shine

If you’re an actor or puppeteer looking to be a part of a brand-new comedy web series, here’s your opportunity. Even if you don’t have experience in acting or working with puppets, instruction will be provided for you to be a part of this fun adventure.

The series, Lizard Manager’s Used Cryptids, is a comedy show about a Lizard Man who follows his dreams from the swamp to the “big” city of Crittersberg. Here he meets other cryptids like him with untapped talents. Realizing his gift of gab could help them out, he decides to start a cryptid talent agency and becomes the “Lizard Manager”.

We believe this is a great opportunity for talented members of our community to express themselves and learn new skills. We look forward to meeting you at auditions!”

Production for the show will begin May 1 and several episodes will be filmed and released on Rather Irregular Production’s Youtube channel. Plus, the episodes will be put together as a feature film to be submitted to film festivals.

Actors

Note: Actors must be able to provide their own makeup + wardrobe. Find full character bios and commitment information here.

Dean Neyer—A mature male or female dean of a community college who belongs to a secret society dedicated to making sure cryptids remain mysterious and unseen.

Carrie Cringe—A young female goth Instagram influencer who hires cryptids for a photoshoot.

Puppeteers

Aldus Altie—Lead cryptid. A friendly southern lake monster based on Georgia’s Altamaha-ha legend. Receptionist for the cryptid talent agency who loves to tell long-winded stories.

Chicken—Sidekick to our antagonist Dean Neyer who sneaks around spying on the cryptids. No lines but will have vocalizations including an evil laugh. 

Yukon Ceratosaurus—A living dinosaur who disrupts Carrie Cringe’s photoshoot. No lines but will require vocalizations including a scary roar.

Skunk—A sarcastic swamp critter who makes fun of Lizard Manager when they meet.

Groundhog—A sarcastic swamp critter who makes fun of Lizard Manager when they meet but is a little nicer than the other swamp critters.

Audition details

You must be 18 years or older to audition, but no experience is necessary. Lines to read for each character will be provided at the auditions.
