When Taco Tuesday and National Taco Day collide, you know we’re going to find some tacos to eat at some point. And that’s what’s happening October 1.
You could head over to Taco Bell for their $1 taco deal but there are plenty of locally owned spots in Alabama for you to enjoy. Whether you’re celebrating the national holiday or you’re just looking for some tacos to enjoy with some friends, we’ve got you covered.

Antojitos Izcalli in Tuscaloosa

- Our order: The al pastor street tacos with extra cilantro and a lime on the side hits every time. Plus make sure to grab your favorite flavor of Jarritos.

Chico’s Taqueria in Albertville
- Location: 203 W McKinney Ave, Albertville, Alabama 35950
- Hours: 11AM-8PM Tuesday-Thursday | 11AM-10PM Friday-Saturday | 11AM-7PM Sunday | Closed Monday
- Our order: The asada tacos topped with chopped onions and fresh cilantro, served in soft corn tortillas. Then go ahead and get a nice horchata to wash it all down.

- Our order: I keep telling myself I’ll branch out on the menu but every time I show up at the truck, I keep ordering the chorizo. It’s just that good and you will want to try it for yourself.

- Our order: My personal favorite is their pupusas but if you’re looking for tacos, I’d recommend the chorizo tacos. Just head to the back counter and ask for any of the tacos… you won’t regret it.

- Our order: If you want something more unique, Heirloom may be the place to go. Check out their cauliflower tacos topped with purple cabbage and pico de gallo.

- Our order: It may seem like a regular Mexican restaurant and there are a lot of good things on the menu but you may be surprised to find out that their most recommended menu item is the fish tacos so that’ll be the first thing we try.

- Our order: Make sure to check out the gordita tacos with your choice of protein. You can’t go wrong with any selection!

- Our order: The spicy pork tacos mix the best part of street tacos with a nice flavor and heat of the South.
