CMT to honor legendary country music band Alabama with 2-hour TV special

CMT announced it will air a special 2-hour tribute later this year honoring the legendary country music band Alabama.

CMT Giants: Alabama

According to the CMT release, the program will be called “CMT Giants: Alabama.” 

The program is must-see TV and will feature several country music superstars, including:

  • Blake Shelton
  • Brad Paisley
  • Jason Aldean
  • Jamey Johnson
  • Lionel Richie
  • Little Big Town
  • Lorrie Morgan
  • Luke Bryan
  • Martina McBride
  • Old Dominion
  • Pam Tillis
  • Riley Green
  • Sam Hunt
  • Vince Gill 

Filming for the show will be done at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville.

Alabama: 43 No. 1 hits

The Fort Payne band is one of the most successful musical groups in country music history. Over 50 years, Alabama has sold 80 million albums and topped the charts with 43 No.1 hits.

The show will also feature interviews with Alabama founding members Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry.

June Jam Coming June 1

It is a busy year for the group. In late 2023, the band announced it will return to Fort Payne this summer once again to hold June Jam on June 1st. Last year’s music festival attracted 11.000 fans and raised thousands of dollars for local charities.
