Cold storage facility in Marshall County among new building permits

Six new building permits were issued this past week for construction projects in Alabama exceeding $1 million. These included projects in Birmingham, Anniston, Auburn, Tuscaloosa and Boaz, among others.

The priciest of these permits is for a cold storage facility in Marshall County that will end up being a $65 million project.

Envision Cold’s new 209k-square-foot facility in Boaz

Envision Cold broke ground in February on a $64–$67 million, 209,000-square-foot cold storage facility in Boaz. The project will serve the local agricultural and poultry industries and is expected to create 82 jobs and support the region’s industrial growth.

A $2.7 million building permit was issued last week to Pioneer Electric Group as part of this project.
