We got to have an inside look at one of lower Alabama’s most-anticipated projects: the Mobile International Airport Terminal.

The project, which had an estimated cost of $362 million in December 2025, was originally scheduled to be complete in August 2024, then September 2026 (following budget issues).

Now, it’s set to open in early 2027. This is due to Mobile’s Airport Authority having the construction budget under control, which allowed for two traffic circles to be added to the infrastructure.

While the rest of the building is on schedule to be completed in September 2026, it is these extra features that will push back the opening date further.
