Earlier this week, Conn’s HomePlus, the parent company of Badcock Home Furniture & more, filed for bankruptcy, 

As a result, 40+ Conn’s and Badcock stores in Alabama have begun going out of business sales.

On Conn’s HomePlus website, all 5 of the 134-year-old company’s Alabama locations appear on their store closing page

Badcock closing 38 locations

Badcock Home Furniture & more, which was bought by Conn’s last year, but has a much bigger footprint in Alabama, is closing 38 stores.

Alabama communities impacted by the Badcock store closures include:

  • North Alabama — Florence, Athens, Decatur, Huntsville, Scottsboro, Fort Payne, Cullman
  • North Central AL/Birmingham Metro — Jasper, Birmingham, Homewood, Pell City, Tuscaloosa, Oxford, Sylacauga, Gadsden, Oneonta 
  • Central Alabama — Auburn, Valley, Troy, Montgomery, Greenville, Alexander City, Eufaula, Roanoke, Prattville
  • Mobile/Baldwin/Lower Alabama — Mobile, Saraland, Foley Daphne, Dothan, Enterprise Geneva, Semmes, Brewton, Bay Minnette, Citronelle, Ozark 

Liquidation event at 550+ stores

B. Riley Retail Solutions, LLC is managing the liquidation event at 550+ stores across Alabama and 14 additional states. Store furnishings, fixtures, and equipment are also available for sale.

Conn’s and Badcock sell a broad assortment of affordable home furniture, appliances, consumer electronics, office furnishings, accessories, and seasonal items from leading global brands.
