The long-awaited and highly anticipated return of fictional American soccer coach Ted Lasso finally happened Wednesday.

Apple TV’s hit show Ted Lasso dropped its Season 4 premiere this week and there were three key Alabama connections throughout the episode.

Local actor Grant Feeley shines in debut

Grant Feeley was a standout in the first episode of Season 4 as he replaced the previous actor playing Henry Lasso, the son of the title character.

Feeley not only got to show off his acting skills but also took the pitch to play some soccer with his character scoring a goal.

Alabama at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum

The main premise for the episode was the main characters from the first three seasons visiting Ted in Kansas City.

One character, Leslie Higgins, visits the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum where he gets guided through the history of baseball.

A featured name during his tour was Alabama native Satchel Paige. He was highlighted for his success in the Negro Leagues + as the oldest player to ever debut in the MLB.

Higgins even donned a Satchel Paige jersey from his Kansas City Monarchs days for the remainder of the episode.

During the tour, several videos and pictures also featured old Birmingham Black Barons jerseys.

How to watch Ted Lasso Season 4

While it’s probably safe to say there won’t be any more Alabama baseball lore brought out during the season, you can still catch Feeley starring in the show.

This season will feature Ted Lasso’s move back to England to coach a women’s soccer team but this time, it seems his son will be going with him. So “Henry” may be featured even more than previous seasons.
