Dothan High School celebrates completion of new athletic complex

Dothan High School teamed up last week with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the opening of its new and improved athletic complex.

Along with a ribbon-cutting, the community got to see the facilities first hand.

The list of newly built and renovated facilities at the school, which has an enrollment of 1500+ students, is impressive.

Here is a rundown of all the improvements, according to the Dothan City Schools Facebook page:

• Newly constructed 14,193 square foot athletic facility
• Renovated 8,044 square foot female only athletic facility

Throughout the all facilities, student athletes have access to:

• 70 yard turf practice field
• 3 new weight rooms
• New wrestling room
• New nutrition room
• New athletic training room
• New Encore Rehab Center
• New cheer room
• New storage rooms, offices, locker rooms, 
• 70-seat state of the art meeting room, 2 state of the art laundry facilities
• Softball covered batting cages

Athletics and Spirit – Dothan Wolves

The Dothan “Wolves” are a 7A school under the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) classification system.

In addition to its athletic facilities, the school won the  2022 the AHSAA School Spirit Challenge sponsored by The Bama Buzz.
