To no surprise, ESPN’s flagship College Gameday show is headed back to Tuscaloosa this weekend as No. 6 Alabama hosts No. 2 Georgia.

The two teams will meet for the fourth time in the last three seasons with the Crimson Tide winning both regular season meetings. However, the Bulldogs won the previous meeting when the two teams played for the SEC Championship last December.

College Gameday, a weekly preview show that airs from the site of a major college football game, will be on ESPN from 8-11AM on Saturday, Oct. 10. University of Alabama graduate Rece Davis hosts a panel that includes Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and of course, Nick Saban.

ESPN has not yet announced where the show will air from on campus but previous visits have included being near the Walk of Champions or on the Quad.

What to know about attending ESPN’s College Gameday

Students and fans have the opportunity for an up-close view of the show by standing in the pit immediately adjacent to the stage. Selection is on a first-come, first-serve basis for all fans so get there early Saturday morning (and maybe Friday night!)

Students admitted to the pit are encouraged to wear school colors and should have a numbered wristband.

The following items are prohibited in the pit:

  • Bags (of any kind)
  • Food and drinks
  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Markers or dry erase boards
  • Signs on sticks

Signs are encouraged but any signs that could be seen on camera have to follow ESPN guidelines.

If you arrive early, you can also receive a raffle ticket to participate in Pat McAfee’s Kicking is “Easy” competition. Eligible fans ages 18 and older can enter for a chance to attempt a 33-yard field goal by obtaining a raffle ticket in the College GameDay Pit before the show begins. Current and former collegiate athletes are not eligible.
