Explore Robertsdale + learn the history of ‘Hub City’

Incorporated in 1921, Robertsdale is referred to as ‘Hub City of Baldwin County’ due to it being the approximate mid-point from one side of the county to the other + near the county’s center north to south.
The city was founded by the Southern Plantation Development of Chicago, Ill. + named after B. F. Roberts, an official in the company.
Among the list of notable people who were raised in Robertsdale are Tim Cook, Apple Inc.’s CEO, + Janie Ledlow Shores, the first woman elected to Alabama’s Supreme Court. As of 2023, the city’s population was roughly 7,421 people.
Honey Bee Park + Bike Trail

Honey Bee Park + Bike Trail is open 24 hours + is 3.4 miles in length. Dogs are welcome to enjoy the park, but must be on a leash.
The Central Baldwin Education Foundation (CBEF) hosts an annual Honey Bee Festival at the park, featuring vendors, a kids area, entertainment + many food choices. Last year, the festival boasted over 110 booths in attendance.

Annual Professional Cowboy Association Rodeo
This year, the Robertsdale Rotary Club + Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 25th Annual PCA Championship Rodeo. It will be located at the Baldwin County Coliseum, which also serves as the site of the Annual Baldwin County Fair. The rodeo is set to take place on March 7 + 8.

Styx River Tube & Canoe Rental

Alabama’s own Styx River is a 41.3-mile-long river, beloved by locals as a place to enjoy float, kayaking + canoeing trips. Established in 1986, Styx River Tube & Canoe Rental offers visitors the option of a 4-mile short trip or an 11-mile long trip. Guests park by the river + are then transported upstream; the trip concludes back at the parking area.

Although Alabama now has Buc-ee’s locations in Auburn, Athens + Leeds, Robertsdale was the location of the first Buc-ee’s to open in Alabama. Since its grand opening in 2019, the large gas station + convenience store has served as a popular stop for those on their way to + from Orange Beach, Ala.
