Friday events every month across the state
Many cities across the state hold monthly events such as “First Friday’s” or “Art Walks” on one of the first Friday’s of every month, creating lively atmospheres for both locals and tourists to gather.
Many of the cities incorporate a mix of art, activities, music, food, and fun into their monthly event. Some areas even offer extended hours for stores and restaurants. Keep reading for information on a few of the cities that offer these Friday events.
Florence’s First Friday’s
If you find yourself in North Alabama on the first Friday of the month, make sure to head to downtown Florence for multiple blocks full of fun. From May- December on the first Friday of the month, Court Street in downtown Florence, and multiple connecting streets are blocked off and filled with vendors, music, and activities.
If you want to join in on the fun in downtown Florence, there are two more First Friday’s left this year, November 1st and December 6th.
Mobile’s Artwalk
On the second Friday of every month in Mobile, their Artwalk event takes place. This event highlights visual, performing, and culinary arts throughout the community. Dauphin street is shut down for the event and open to foot traffic, many of the stores and art galleries in this area are open late for visitors to explore.
This month’s artwalk is sure to get you in the spooky mood, celebrate Halloween at the artwalk! Make sure to stop by and check out this art lovers paradise in Mobile on one of the remaining dates: October 11th, November 8th, and December 13th.
Fairhope’s First Friday Art Walk
Fairhope also hosts a monthly art walk on the first day of every month. Their event takes place in Italian downtown from 6-8. Many of the stores stay open late on the date of the event for visitors of the event.
Many local artists and art pieces are showcased during the event, along with other vendors and entertainment. The next date for the First Friday Art Walk is on November 1st. Be sure to check out this event for loads of fun and glimpses of impressive art and artists.
Birmingham City Walk Art Market
Birmingham city hosts an art walk monthly also once a month. The event features artwork, artists, music, vendors, street performers and activities.
The remaining dates for this year are: October 19, November 16, and December 21.
Huntsville downtown Art Walk
Huntsville’s art walk takes place in courthouse square and Big Spring Park. Their event offers over 50 local vendors with items such as art, jewelry, decor, and treats. Other features include music, yard games, and kid friendly activities.
The next Huntsville Art Walk is on October 18th in Big Spring Park!
