Fun In The Shoals: Kids Fest!

It’s Park and Recreation month all of July in the City of Florence! It is a beautiful city, so there is no surprise of all the celebrations hosted by the Park and Recreation department of Florence. One of the most popular events held annually is Kids Fest. Let’s take a closer look of all the fun that this years Kids Fest had to offer last week.
Oh What Fun!
This years Kids Fest had an amazing turnout. It was hosted by Florence City Park and Recreation department on July 8th at Lewis Field, a short distance away from Handy Recreation Center in Florence. Here’s a list of festivities that brought excitement to the fest for the entire family:
- Inflatable moon-bounce and slide
- K-9 Demonstration by Florence City Police department
- Smokehouse interactive demonstration by Florence City Fire Department
- Obstacle Course
- Soccer and Golf Games
- Disc Golf
- Kona Ice truck (Yummy free Ice Cones :))
- Music
- ‘Wizzer’ Ride
More Fun in Florence!
Missed the first Kids Fest event? Don’t worry! There’s another Kids Fest on July 15th from 5-7pm at Broadway Recreation Center located at 300 N Broadway Street in Florence, Alabama. This will be the 2nd round of Kids Fest; However, the fun will still be the same as the first. If you aren’t able to make it to that, here’s a list of other exciting events to attend all in the month of July (pictured above). Although July is the month of celebrating Florence Park and Recreation, the fun doesn’t have to stop there. Florence still has amazing events to check out year around!
