Southern Living consulted real estate experts to find the best lake towns in the region for full-time living. The list takes into account several factors:

  • Affordable housing and year-round outdoor activities
  • A blend of natural beauty, small-town charm and amenities for full-time living

The list of 8 includes:

  • Greensboro, Georgia
  • Seneca, South Carolina
  • Hot Springs, Arkansas
  • Chapin, South Carolina
  • Guntersville, Alabama
  • Dandridge, Tennessee
  • Cornelius, North Carolina
  • Clayton, Georgia
