There will be no music festival on the beaches of Gulf Shores in the summer of 2026, according to Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft.
The mayor announced the news during Monday night’s city council meeting, saying the city will not host a Hangout Music Festival or any related type of event in 2026.
“We delayed too long, or they did, for their application to have the kind of acts that we require to be successful in 2026. We refused to let them go back to the acts they had before so we couldn’t do it. And so they canceled the 2026 event.
“They have time now to pursue the type of talent we want on our beaches to invite the right audience that we want on our beaches that we approved the last event that could happen.”

Craft did not expand on the type of talent or type of audience the city is looking to bring in for the music festival.
Hangout Music Festival 2027?

The mayor went on to say the city is already in the process of approving a festival for 2027 but did not give further details on the future event.
Last year, the city hosted the Sand in My Boots country music festival which replaced the annual Hangout Music Festival.
It’s not yet clear which festival will be returning to Gulf Shores in 2027. We will provide more updates as they become available.
