Here’s how to find your next furry friend at these upcoming Mobile adoption events
They don’t call them “man’s best friend” for nothing. Searching for a new Furry Friend? Look No Further! If you’re on the lookout for a new addition to your furry family and in the Mobile area, we have the perfect place for you. Read on to find out more about upcoming adoption events with Baldwin County Animal Shelter, along with a “paw-ful” lot of information on how you can help out
Finding an event
On Friday, September 2, Baldwin County Animal Shelter held an adoption event at the PetSmart located in Spanish Fort and I stopped by to see what it was all about. Each event is intended to help get these fur babies out of the shelter and into a new environment where they can get the chance to be seen, receive pets and possibly even find their forever homes.
The Daphne and Foley PetSmart locations hold adoption events on the first Friday of every month from 12-3PM. Mark your calendars for these upcoming adoption events happening across Mobile:
September 10 – Adoption Event at Tractor Supply in Summerdale
September 17 – Adoption Event at the FloraBama Yacht Club
September 24 – Adoption Event at Kiwanis Club Of Bay Minette
October 7 – Adoption Event at the Foley PetSmart

Lending a paw
All dogs you see are on a journey to find their forever homes. Cone, Cloud, Blue Jeans and Grace are the top four longest residents of the Baldwin County Animal Shelter. Although adoption events are a great traveling resource for those who want to stop by and support their local pet stores and shelters, there are a ton of other ways you can get involved within your community. Every PetSmart has a specific adoption partner that they work closely with to help these special pets find their special homes.
PetSmart on Airport Blvd, located in West Mobile, may be the place for you if you’re looking to adopt a cat. Mystic is currently the only cat residing in their kitty adoption area and is looking for a loving home!
