Lafayette, Alabama—home to a population of approximately 2,500 people—is a 30-minute drive north of Auburn. In the heart of the little town, you’ll find a charming downtown filled with history.

On Alabama Avenue East stands a row of old brick buildings. One of those historic spots, the old Persons Furniture Co., is being revitalized into a beautiful events venue. When complete, The Venue at Alabama Avenue East will welcome the community for all kinds of special occasions like:

  • Corporate events
  • Parties
  • Receptions
  • Weddings

Steve White co-owns The Venue on Alabama Avenue East with Kim Langley, and the two business partners also own the beloved Hometown Mercantile on the Square next door.

“We want to give back to our hometown, bringing business back.”

White and Langley plan to make The Venue on Alabama Avenue East a destination location for locals and travelers alike. It will be a stunning space in the cozy downtown of Lafayette. There is even a lake and pond available nearby for off-site events followed by receptions at The Venue.

You can find it in the historic Persons Furniture Co. location

The beautiful new events space will be located in a historic spot built in 1901. According to the Chambers County Museum, the building was home to several businesses, including the Lafayette Post Office and Persons Furniture Co.

Its revitalization is taking place now, and White said they are aiming to be ready to welcome events on October 1, 2023. If you’re interested in contacting the venue, we’ve got you covered.
