How Room In the Inn Shoals is helping those in need year around

For over seven years, Room in The Inn Shoals’ has been making a difference in the lives of those without homes. The non-profit organization, whose motto is “Where Everyone Matters”, provides much-needed food and shelter during the cold winter months. Keep reading to find out how you can get involved and support Room In the Inn Shoals.

What is Room in The Inn Shoals?

Room in the Inn Shoals was founded in 2015 by two local mothers, Krista Manchester and Beth Howard. While walking the streets of Florence, Krista and Beth met people sleeping in parks, on benches and behind trash cans in the cold winter months.

Knowing they were in a position to help, Krista and Beth gathered friends and family to create Room In the Inn Shoals. That winter, they housed and fed 57 people with open arms and warm hearts.

Room at the Table: Where everyone has a seat

Five years later, Beth and Krista created a partner organization: Room at the Table of The Shoals. The organization provides hot meals to people in need, seven days a week, year-round. At Room at the Table of The Shoals, anyone can stop by to share a meal with those in attendance, creating a true sense of community.

How to support

Room at The Table and Room In the Inn Shoals welcomes all volunteers to support the organizations. It’s not a one-man job, so thanks to people like you, directors and executives of Room at The Table and Room In the Inn are able to keep both rewarding projects active. Those interested are able to support in the following three ways:

• Volunteering for the Winter Homeless Shelter Program
• Helping serve hot meals with Room at the Table
• Serving as a host church for the Winter Homeless Shelter Program
