Huge 1,000-foot ‘slide’ coming to downtown Gadsden
Reading time: 1 minute

Imagine sliding down a “Slip ‘N Slide” the length of an aircraft carrier or three football fields! That is what’s in store for Gadsden students, residents and visitors on July 25-26, 2026.
On those two days, the city is transforming a downtown street (S. 3rd St. near Riverview Regional Medical Center) into a 1000-foot water slide.
Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford is excited about it, too:
“We just finished up a fantastic Fourth of July celebration with Freedom Fest, but we’re not done yet. This Back-to-School bash is one of the most unique events Gadsden has ever seen. We want everyone to come out and have a good time at Slide the City before summer is over.”
Mayor Craig Ford, City of Gadsden
Tickets needed to secure massive slide attraction ride

The “Slide the City” attraction has been previously done in two Alabama cities — Huntsville and Vestavia Hills.
