One of downtown Mobile’s most iconic hotels, the cylindrical Holiday Inn + Suites on Royal Street, is up for auction later this month.

Let’s start with some fast facts about the property. These are all according to the listing on LoopNet.

- Building size: 128,100 SF
The hotel is in some pretty prime downtown real estate. It’s along some key parade routes for Mardi Gras season and within walking distance of Cathedral Square.
It doesn’t just appeal to those in town on business, it’s a great spot for tourists to stay, too. Waking up in the downtown Holiday Inn puts you within walking distance of the History Museum, Mardi Gras Park, the Exploreum and more.
Big changes to downtown Mobile
The Hampton isn’t the only downtown property up for grabs right now. Last month, we wrote about for-sale signs popping up at the Gayfer’s building in downtown Mobile. That one has a $4M price tag.
