Correction: A previous version of this story misidentified the hotel. This is a corrected version of the story.

Up for auction on July 29

Let’s start with some fast facts about the property. These are all according to the listing on LoopNet.

  • Address: 301 Government St, Mobile, AL 36602
  • Number of guest rooms: 206 (2 suites, 204 standard guest rooms)
  • Amenities: Fitness center, business center, on-site bar, pool + meeting space

The hotel is in some pretty prime downtown real estate. It’s along some key parade routes for Mardi Gras season and within walking distance of Cathedral Square.

It doesn’t just appeal to those in town on business, it’s a great spot for tourists to stay, too. Waking up in the downtown Holiday Inn puts you within walking distance of the History Museum, Mardi Gras Park, the Exploreum and more.

The Hampton isn’t the only downtown property up for grabs right now. Last month, we wrote about for-sale signs popping up at the Gayfer’s building in downtown Mobile. That one has a $4M price tag.

Also on the market is a trio of vacant buildings along Dauphin and Conception Streets for $1.8M.
