IndyCar Returns to Birmingham, April 18th
Last year, the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama was among several events canceled due to COVID-19. Now, the race is scheduled to return to the popular Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The 2.38-mile course at Barber Motorsports Park has been a hit among drivers and fans since IndyCar has raced at the course, starting in 2010.
April 18th will mark the first time that Barber Motorsports Park will host the season opener for an IndyCar season.
In order to keep guests and employees safe, the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama will not be opening the facility at full capacity. In addition, Barber Motorsports Park will not be offering offsite parking, as that would require shuttles to carry fans back and forth. Instead, all guests will be allowed to park on-site.
IndyCar Welcomes a New Racer
Be sure to keep an eye out for racing legend and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson will be hitting the tracks at Barber Motorsports Park for his inaugural IndyCar season after announcing his departure from NASCAR in 2020.
