A new program is working to provide a pathway for young adults to create more business in Alabama.
“Unlock Alabama” is accepting applications for a launch this summer. It was created from a $300,000 grant from Innovate Alabama in collaboration with the Innovation Portal incubator based in Mobile.
The program is designed for people ages 18-29 who may not have the network and resources needed to jumpstart their business in the state. The idea is to literally “unlock Alabama” as a hub for young businesses.
“It’s like a pre-accelerator program. People can come in with an idea and out the other end, they could potentially make their first dollar. They could have more clarity on their idea. They could pivot and launch something different.”
