Ivanka Trump adopts from Alabama dog rescue

Former President’s daughter Ivanka Trump recently announced that she and her family adopted a dog from Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Shorter, Alabama. According to Trump’s Instagram post, the German Shepherd-Lab mix was found abandoned and emaciated along a highway in Alabama.

About Big Dog Ranch Rescue

As reported by The Bama Buzz, Big Dog Ranch Rescue opened its new Southeast regional facility in Shorter, Alabama in October of 2022. The largest no-kill dog rescue organization in the United States, Big Dog’s mission is to save 5,000 dogs every year.

The regional rescue center for neglected and abused dogs takes in canines from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. 

Big Dog is a rehabilitation, adoption + transfer hub

Big Dog Ranch Rescue’s location in Macon County provides quarantine, rehabilitation, medical, and adoption facilities while also acting as a transfer hub. This means that Big Dog can take in dogs from overcrowded shelters, rehabilitate them and transfer them to rescues in other states.
