Jax State bowling claims second national title in 3 years

For the second time in three years, Jacksonville State is at the top of the college bowling world.
The Gamecocks capped off the 2026 season by beating Wichita State in the best-of-7 championship match, claiming another national title for the program.
Jax State dropped the first game before taking the next four including a dramatic finish which wrapped up with a 3-strike final frame by Gianna Brandolino.
The final scores included:
- Game 1: 216-208, Wichita State
- Game 2: 246-213, Jax State
- Game 3: 240-196, Jax State
- Game 4: 185-169, Jax State (8 frames)
- Game 5: 191-183, Jax State
Erin Klemencic was named the most outstanding bowler of the championship, carrying a 266 Baker average during Friday’s first two rounds and struck five times during the championship match. Kaitlyn Stull and Brandolino joined her on the all-tournament team.
Jax State has a 103-10 record as a team. There are still some tournaments remaining this season including USBC’s Intercollegiate Team Championship and Intercollegiate Singles Championship in Green Bay.
