‘New era for Jax State’

The university said the facility was designed to enhance the overall experience for student-athletes, supporting physical and mental well-being. It first broke ground on the $32 million

The state-of-the-art complex features several amenities for players including:

  • Administrative offices
  • Modern locker rooms
  • Team meeting spaces
  • Sports medicine center

The complex has direct entrance onto Snow-Burgess Field at the newly named AmFirst Stadium. It also has a club level and corporate super suites for games.

“This complex represents a new era for Jax State football. The Loring and Debbie White Football Complex is a game-changer for our program. It provides our players with the resources they need to train at the highest level and prepare for competition.”

~ Greg Seitz, JSU Director of Athletics

Loring and Debbie White

The facility is named after a pair of longtime Gamecock fans—Loring and Debbie White.

Loring, a native of Prattville, played football at Jacksonville State before graduating in 1978. A donation from the couple helped make the new facility possible.

“We’ve been very blessed, and we like to give back when the opportunity is there. It’s an honor to have your name put up there, but that’s not why we do it. I’m more interested in each one of those current players seeing and hearing about someone who’s been in their shoes.”

~ Loring White

“Loring’s tenacity, dedication, and work ethic, which he demonstrated as a student-athlete here at Jax State, have continued to guide him throughout his career. We are immensely grateful that his steadfast dedication to his alma mater has never wavered.”

~ Dr. Don Killingsworth, President of Jacksonville State University

Jacksonville State will open its football season Thursday, August 29 with a home game against Coastal Carolina.
