A common myth is that you need to spend years earning a degree, or even move elsewhere, to find the best career opportunities and thrive.

Over 65,000 Alabamians can tell you otherwise, having already discovered a faster path to better jobs with workforce training and education through the IC and Alabama’s community colleges.

Here’s how it works: Alabama employers are actively hiring across many industries that require specific skill sets. IC leaders stay aware of those needs while connecting individuals and businesses to specialized training at the state’s community colleges.

The IC offers the following workforce development programs:

  • 59 Skills for Success courses
  • 16 new SFS courses coming soon

IC success stories

“Before Skills for Success, I wasn’t sure how to move forward in a new career path. The training gave me more than technical knowledge. It gave me the skills, confidence and hope I needed to step into a stable industry with real opportunity for growth. That experience led directly to my job with Uniti Fiber and changed both my career and my outlook on life.”
Ryan Ales, IC Skills for Success trainee through Coastal Alabama Community College
