After just one year in Tuscaloosa, the Kentuck Festival of the Arts has decided to make the city its new home—at least for the next 15 years.
The city announced the partnership Wednesday morning after the city council voted on an agreement ensuring the festival will call Tuscaloosa its home through 2039.
This decision comes just one month before the 2025 event set to be held at Snow Hinton Park.
“Having such a culturally renowned event in our City is a great source of pride for me and for our community. By committing to this 15-year partnership, we are investing in our future generations.”

After over five decades of the event happening in Northport, Kentuck was forced to find a new venue for the festival and Snow Hinton Park provided the perfect atmosphere.
Just after the 2024 festival ended, Kentuck said it would be returning in 2025. And a few more months of discussion, the partnership has extended even further.
“We are grateful to the City of Tuscaloosa for their commitment to Kentuck and the arts. This 15-year partnership reflects the strength of our collaboration, and we look forward to watching it grow in the years ahead. Together, we will continue bringing a world-class festival to the citizens of West Alabama and to visitors from across the nation.”
Exa Skinner, Executive Director of Kentuck Art Center and Festival
Kentuck has been a nationally recognized, premier annual arts festival since 1971, attracting guests from across the country. Last year’s festival at Snow Hinton Park drew in over 16,000 visitors.
