Kohl’s to add 5 in-store Sephora locations in Alabama

Kohl’s, the popular clothing and housewares department store chain, is rolling out five new “store-within-a-store” Sephora locations in Alabama by the end of 2023, according to Chain Store Age.

What is a “Store Within a Store”?

All Sephora at Kohl’s locations are about 2,500-square feet in size. They offer a curated assortment of  makeup, skincare, hair and fragrance brands. Along with the diverse range of products, the in-stores are staffed with Sephora-trained beauty advisors who offer personalized beauty consultations and assistance with finding products.

5 New Sephora In-Stores

The five Sephora in-store locations are planned for the following Alabama Kohl’s department stores in 2023:

• Birmingham — 1100 Inverness Corners, Birmingham, 35242
• Dothan— 4401 Montgomery Highway Ste. 200, 36303
• Madison—7630 Highway 72 W. 35758
• Mobile—845 Schillinger Rd. South 36695
• Prattville—1460 Cotton Exchange, 36066

Highly Successful Strategy

The partnership between Kohl’s and Sephora has been very successful. According to the Chain Store Age report:

“Kohl’s projects that Sephora at Kohl’s will grow to achieve $2 billion in annual sales by 2025. In 2022, nearly 8 million Kohl’s customers purchased beauty products at Sephora at Kohl’s, and approximately 50% of Sephora at Kohl’s baskets had an additional category purchased. In addition, in the fourth quarter of 2022, total beauty sales increased 90% at Kohl’s.”
