Labor Day gas prices in Alabama: What you need to know

The average price of a gallon of gas in Alabama is 16 cents cheaper this Labor Day week than last year, according to AAA Alabama

Presently, Labor Day holiday gas for regular statewide is $2.82 compared to $2.98 during Labor Day week in 2024. 

“We’ve been virtually unchanged in our gas prices for the last several months. When I say unchanged, we’ve been within five cents a gallon or so.”

Gas prices vary greatly throughout Alabama ranging from $2.75 in Shelby County to $3.01 in Sumter and Wilcox Counties.

Here are gas prices in some select counties on August 27:

  • Lauderdale County — $2.72
  • Madison County — $2.86
  • Fayette County — $2.96
  • Tuscaloosa County — $2.77
  • Calhoun County — $2.76
  • Sumter County — $3.01
  • Montgomery County — $2.88
  • Mobile County — $2.84
  • Henry County — $2.85
  • Conecuh County — $2.98
