3…2…1…. Blast off! Rocket City is getting ready to launch the Artemis program and new brews. In celebration of NASA‘s presence in Huntsville and the upcoming mission to the moon and beyond, the Downtown Huntsville Craft Beer Trail is rolling out Artemis-themed beers. Keep reading for all the deets.
To infinity and beyond
Artemis will be a series of missions to get humans to the moon and eventually, to Mars. This mission will send the first woman and person of color to land on the moon. Artemis I will begin the mission by launching Orion, the first spacecraft to be sent into space by the Space Launch System.
Carrying no passengers, Orion will serve as a test flight for the mission. The Space Launch System will be the most powerful rocket in the world. Its home? You guessed it, Huntsville. You can expect this monumental moment late 2021 or early 2022.
Huntsville lends a hand
Huntsville is home to Marshall Space Flight Center. According to NASA’s Artemis plan, there are 16 mission contributors throughout the country. Huntsville’s Marshall Space Flight Center is excited to play a significant role. The Space Launch System is a noteworthy Huntsville contribution, which seems fitting given its nickname.
