Over the past 20+ years, Lincoln Honda has produced roughly 5 million vehicles and engines. With roughly 4,500 jobs, the Alabama Auto Plant has contributed more than $12 billion annually in economic impact for Alabama.

This manufacturing expertise made them the most suitable for carrying out the 2022 Honda Passport and Pilot TrailSport models. They’ll also be producing the new halo for light trucks, which provide more light for peak off-roading experience.

FUN FACT: The first vehicle AAP rolled out was the Honda Odyssey in 2001.

Back in the 90s when soccer moms started the SUV craze, the Honda Passport was first brought into the market for a brief time. Now, the renewed Honda Passport is making a come-back with off-road capabilities and a new exterior design. Production started back in 2018.

Lincoln Honda also has begun manufacturing the first Honda TrailSport models—Passport TrailSport and Pilot TrailSport. We’re excited that these vehicles will be exclusively produced in Alabama.

“Our Honda team has been building light trucks in Lincoln for over two decades, and we’re incredibly proud to apply that manufacturing know-how and skill to every new model we produce. Starting production of the new 2022 Passport and Passport TrailSport is a great way to kick off our next 20 years of Honda manufacturing in Alabama.”

Did you know that the TrailSport also features a unique grille, 18-inch black alloy wheels, tires sporting a rugged sidewall and the distinctive orange-on-black TrailSport badge on the grille and tailgate?

Both new SUVs will feature the new dynamic orange TrailSport badge since they’re designed for adventure and durability.
