This marks Little Donkey’s second location in Montgomery. It first opened in Eastchase and quickly became a go-to spot for flavorful eats and fun vibes.

Now, the restaurant is making its downtown debut on North Perry Street, thanks to a partnership between the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) and Pihakis Restaurant Group

EJI welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Legacy Sites each year, and has been working to bring more dining options nearby.

Their goal? Make downtown more walkable, vibrant and full of places people actually want to spend time and money.

Bonus: Little Donkey’s neighbor is Hero, another Pihakis Restaurant Group eatery known for its popularity in Birmingham.

What to expect at Little Donkey

If you haven’t tried Little Donkey yet, now’s your chance. Trust us, it’s totally worth the hype.

The menus were created in collaboration with cooks from across Mexico and the American South, with every dish bringing bold, regional flavors and traditional techniques to the table.

The crispy chips are a strong starter, then dig into favorites like fajitas, tacos, burritos and enchiladas. The restaurant’s known for its fried chicken, so be sure to put it on your must-try list.
