LivSmart by Hilton breaks ground on first Alabama location

A new kind of hotel is coming soon to Opelika.
LivSmart Suites is a new brand of hotels from Hilton with just two locations open across the country already—one in Indiana and one in Tennessee. They’re designed to provide comfort for guests with extended stays.
Opelika held a groundbreaking last week for the new hotel. It will be located at at 2460 Interstate Drive near the Tiger Town Shopping Center just off Interstate 85.

LivSmart Suites by Hilton
LivSmart Suites is self-described as “a lower midscale, long-stay hotel brand offering simplicity, consistency and convenience to guests who may be traveling for weeks or months at a time.”
It could provide another option in town for short-term contract jobs, single-semester stays for grad students and more.
Each room will be equipped with:
- Full-size refrigerator
- Dishwasher
- Microwave
- Two-burner stovetop
- Extended storage space
But the property hopes to also provide reasons to leave your room without ever leaving the campus. The hotel will have:
- Retail market
- Laundry room
- Fitness center
- Outdoor fire pits
- Grills
