While last year’s Miss Alabama is wrapping up her year as Miss America, a new Miss Alabama was named Saturday night.
Emma Terry, Miss Hoover, claimed the prestigious title after the four-night event at Samford University. She was one of 43 contestants competing for the crown last held by Abbie Stockard.

Terry qualified for this year’s big stage after being named Miss Hoover but she’s very familiar with competing in Miss Alabama.
In each of the last two years, Terry had to watch as the woman she was holding hands with at center stage in the final moments of the pageant was crowned, finishing as runner-up in 2023 + 2024.
She was also runner-up in the Miss Alabama’s Teen competition in 2021.
But 2025 was belonged to Terry. She received the top score in two preliminary events—one for talent and one for evening gown.
Those wins helped her earn the crown that just barely eluded her the last two years.
Terry is a native of Leeds and a UAB graduate. She was previously crowned Miss UAB and Miss Jefferson County before taking this year’s Miss Hoover title.
