Every year, the U.S. Department of Education honors schools that go the extra mile for their students by handing out National Blue Ribbon Schools awards.

EPIC Alternative School sees educating young minds as planting seeds for our future. That’s why an indoor botanical garden is central to the school’s design.

EPIC is a Title 1 magnet school. They specialize in exhaustive education—so while test scores are important, educators at EPIC strive for excellence in extracurriculars like band and cheerleading.

At Cullman’s East Elementary, the goal is clear—curating a learning experience that extends beyond the classroom. How they do that is by teaching students a holistic curriculum which touches on topics from world history to robotics and even nutrition.
