Minth Group breaks ground on new $430M Gadsden facility, creating 1,300+ jobs

After sitting empty for more than 25 years, Gadsden’s old Republic Steel site is finally getting a new life — and it’s a big one.
Minth Group Limited, the international automotive supplier, broke ground today with the City of Gadsden at the former Republic Steel and Gulf State Steel site in Gadsden, Alabama.
“There’s a lot of souls here today that lost jobs back in the year 2000 and it’s just too surreal to know that this place is coming back to life.
The Governor has worked with us, ADECA (Alabama Department of Economic Affairs) and ADEM (Alabama Department of Environmental Management), in making this place environmentally friendly and being able to provide jobs and put food back on the table for a lot of Gadsdenites and Etowah Countians. Minth Group investing $430M
Minth Group is investing more than $430 million on the 400-acre site. The project is expected to create more than 1,300 jobs. When all is completed, the Gadsden facility is expected to be Minth’s largest campus worldwide.
