Expansion of Mobile’s Sportsplex has been taking place for several years and there is starting to be a clearer picture of the finished product.

While the $19 million aquatic center has already broken ground and a $60 million Jubilee Park has been proposed, the Mobile County Commission has started the design phase for the championship stadium planned for the center of the Sportsplex.

More details came out Thursday night during the annual State of the City and County Address including early renderings of what the stadium will look like.

The championship field is expected to include:

  • Capacity of 2,000
  • Connected parking lots
  • Press box
  • Restrooms
  • Concessions

Construction on the stadium could start as soon as the end of 2026. A completion date has not yet been determined.

The new stadium will be the new focal point of the Mobile County Sportsplex which already includes three full-size soccer fields + will add four more later this year.
