Mobile Mardi Gras 2025: Safe and family-friendly
In his Wednesday, March 5th nightly email to Mobile residents, Stimpson said there were only around 30 arrests and no major incidents reported.
“Those incredible numbers are a testament to the robust security plan put in place by our first responders.”

One other big number yet to come in is Mobile’s bead recycling program. Last year, 1,574 pounds of beads were recovered and recycled. Thanks to increased attendance, expect that number to increase this year.
Mobile Mayor Stimpson thanks community
In the conclusion of his newsletter, Stimpson thanked the community for another very successful Mardi Gras in the Port City—and his last as mayor.
“As I walked through the downtown streets on Fat Tuesday, it was easy to see how much these events mean to Mobilians of all ages and people throughout Southwest Alabama and beyond. As a native Mobilian, Mardi Gras means a lot to me, too.
One of the things I’ve come to appreciate most during my time with the city is just how much planning and effort goes into making this magic happen year after year. To all the magic makers in our departments and the various organizations, Thank You!“
