The Montgomery Biscuits have been bought by OnDeck Partners, a newly established sports ownership group within the Avenue Sports Fund.
The Biscuits, who are the Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, have made the Southern League playoffs for 10 consecutive years.
For the past two years, they have played in the championship series, losing to cross-state rival Birmingham Barons.
“As OnDeck Partners begins its journey, we see incredible opportunities to create unforgettable fan experiences and to enhance in-stadium offerings, resulting in stronger connections between local communities and the game.”

Montgomery Biscuits elevating fan experience
In addition to acquiring the Biscuits, the sports ownership group purchased the Visalia Rawhide, Single-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Carney said both of these acquisitions align with the company’s goals.
“These acquisitions mark the first step in OnDeck’s long-term vision to invest in fun, affordable entertainment while elevating the fan experience with the goal of deepening the connection between local communities and the game.”
Last year, the Montgomery Biscuits averaged 2,497 fans per game at Riverwalk Stadium.
