The home of the Original Chicken Sandwich is growing again in Alabama. This time, Chick-fil-A is planning a new location in our capital city—keep reading for all the details.

Montgomery’s new Chick-fil-A

Known for its chicken sandwiches and waffle fries (and being closed on Sundays), Chick-fil-A is always a welcome addition for local Alabamians. Soon, Montgomery will welcome its sixth location.

According to WFSA, the owner and operator of two Montgomery-area Chick-fil-As is the one extending the chain’s presence in the city. Here are the details on the new location:

  • Location: East Montgomery, exact location TBA
  • Opening Date: Fall 2024

Though Chick-fil-A is a common sight in Alabama, you may not realize how many jobs the locations create for our state. For instance, this new location is expected to create 80-120 jobs for Montgomery, according to WFSA.

How many Chick-fil-a locations do we have in Alabama?

This new location will be Montgomery’s sixth Chick-fil-a, but what number is it statewide? There are currently 91 locations throughout Alabama, according to Chick-fil-A’s website.

FUN FACT: Alabama’s very first Chick-fil-A opened in 1974, seven years after the original location opened in Atlanta. According to AP News, that Birmingham location—inside Brookwood Village mall—closed in 2021.
