Montgomery hosting celebration weekend for 60th anniversary of Selma to Montgomery marches
Reading time: 2 minutes

While the Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee commemorates a massive moment during the Civil Rights Movement, the events that took place after Bloody Sunday can sometimes be overlooked.
The City of Montgomery is making sure that is not the case this year, putting together a weekend celebration for the 60-year anniversary of the Selma to Montgomery marches.
“This commemorative event not only honors the courage and sacrifice of those who marched in 1965 but also reinforces the ongoing relevance of their struggle for justice, equality, and voting rights in contemporary society.”
