Montgomery welcomes new tech learning hub
Reading time: 3 minutes
Montgomery has a new addition to the city’s growing list of advancements, and it’s solidifying Alabama’s position as a destination for technology and entrepreneurial innovation. Read on to get the scoop on this major opening and how the city plans to celebrate the launch this week.
The Lab on Dexter
The Lab on Dexter is a state-of-the-art facility located on, you guessed it, historic Dexter Avenue. If you’re not familiar with Montgomery, this puts The Lab right by Rosa Parks’ bus stop and Martin Luther King Jr.’s former church.
Featuring small business suites and co-working spaces that are perfectly conducive to collaboration in tech and entrepreneurship, it’s a welcome addition to Montgomery’s growing technology ecosystem. Given the historic location, Chamber officials shared that the facility will also have specific programming for minority- and Black-owned business, according to Montgomery Advertiser.
Community engagement
The Lab will also host quarterly workshops and sessions for companies to attend. These gatherings will cover things like finances, digital literacy, social media presence and more—all essential to fostering great business.
Further, The Lab plans to host regular round-table sessions and develop a mentoring program. The goal will be for companies to share their best practices, as well as things they wish they had known sooner about running a successful business.
“The Lab on Dexter provides a new way for Montgomery’s diverse tech and entrepreneurial communities to collaborate, and deepen their digital, engineering, and business skills. The Lab on Dexter will be a catalyst to reinvigorate our small business development efforts.”

Meet the first tenant, AnalogTeams
AnalogTeams wasted no time getting settled into Montgomery’s newest tech hub. In fact, they are the first official tenants after signing their lease on Monday.
The global company has a robust roster of PMs, developers and designers from across the US, Europe and Africa. They’re thrilled to set up shop in Montgomery and can’t wait to welcome some new neighbors soon.
Celebrating The Lab’s opening
The Lab‘s opening is worth celebrating, and Montgomery plans to do just that. From Aug 30-Sep 2, the city will host a series of events to commemorate the new innovation hub.
The events will be focused on developing underrepresented talent and companies, and you can view the full schedule of events here.
