New $6.4M pickleball facility opens in Dothan

Just over a year after breaking ground, Dothan’s new $6.4 million pickleball facility has officially opened to the public.
The city held a grand opening celebration over the weekend which included the facility’s first tournament featuring more than 250 players from across the region.
The celebration included:
- Ribbon cutting ceremony
- Remarks from city leaders
- Activities for players and spectators
- Food trucks

Dothan Pickleball Facility opens at Rip Hewes
The facility is located at the Rip Hewes Athletic Complex and includes:
- 25 covered courts
- 1 court designated for championship play
- Food truck hookups
- On-site restrooms
The facility is open for play every day from 7AM-9PM.
