ALDI—the low cost, no frills grocery store—held a grand opening today in Enterprise, Alabama.

New ALDI’s Enterprise location

The new store is located at 630 Boll Weevil Circle. It is the 41st ALDI’s store in Alabama, according to the company’s website.

Interest in bringing ALDI’s to the “City of Progress” has been percolating for years. In fact, a Change.org petition campaign was launched in 2019 calling on the popular grocer to locate in the town of 28,700+ residents.

The petition secured nearly 1500 signatures.

For fans of Aldi’s, be prepared to see its footprint grow in Alabama.

Earlier this year, the grocer opened their regional headquarters and distribution center in Loxley, Alabama

In August, the Illinois-based grocery chain bought Winn-Dixie, which has an additional 40 stores in Alabama alone. At the time of the purchase they talked about converting a number of the Winn-Dixie stores into ALDI’s and keeping some as Winn-Dixie. Decisions on the changes are expected to happen in 2024.
