New Barberitos location opens in Prattville, 6th to open statewide

After a short delay, Alabama’s newest Barberitos location officially held its grand opening Thursday, Aug. 28.

A line wrapped around the building as doors opened with customers hoping to leave with a year of free queso. The first 50 people in line got that prize.

Thursday’s celebration took place at the new location, next door to the ZTEC gas station on McQueen Smith Road. Here’s what you need to know before visiting:

Barberitos is known for its build-your-own concept which features everything from burritos and bowls to salads and quesadillas.

At the restaurant, guests can customize their meals with a wide selection of premium proteins and over 20 farm-fresh toppings that are 100% natural and sustainably sourced. Menu highlights include burritos, quesadillas, tacos, nachos, burrito bowls, and salads—each served with chips and salsa. 

The store says guests should expect a fast-casual restaurant format with dine-in, to-go, and catering options. Orders can be placed in person, online at Barberitos.com, through the respective brand apps, or via third-party delivery services.

Founded in Athens, Georgia in 2000, Barberitos now operates 45 locations across seven southeastern states. The company plans to open 25 more in the next few years as they continue strategic expansion across the Southeast and other markets. 

This is the fast-food restaurant’s sixth location to open in Alabama.
