New Buc-ee’s location planned for Auburn
Have you heard the big news? Buc-ee’s could be coming to Auburn! There are currently plans in the making for this Texas gas station to make a new home on The Plains. Buc-ee’s is one of the most beloved travel centers of all time, so we would be lucky to welcome it here. We have found everything you need to know about the new Buc-ee’s location planned for Auburn.
What We Know About the Plan for Buc-ee’s
Next Tuesday, May 18th, Auburn City Council will be having a meeting to talk about the development with Buc-ee’s.
The plan for Buc-ee’s gas station would be to secure a spot right off of Interstate 85 on exit 50 at Cox Road. Again, there are not a ton of details, but it has been confirmed by Mayor Anders that steps are being made towards this option. A lot of hard work and approvals will need to be done before it is finalized.
If this is a go, then it will be the 4th location in Alabama. There is a Buc-ee’s in Robertsdale, Leeds, and final plans for one in Athens.
The project construction would start towards the end of this year and take a whole year to finish. The Buc-ee’s in Auburn would have about 116 pumps for fuel and over 470 parking spots (everything is bigger when it comes from Texas, right?)
Why is this so exciting?
If you are not sure why everyone goes insane over Buc-ee’s, let me tell you! It is not just some normal gas station. They have delicious food such as homemade fudge and their famous jerky. They also have award winning barbeque chefs come and cook for Buc-ee’s! We can’t forget about the special Beaver nuggets or yummy pastries.
It is also not just a quick stop to fill up on gas. It is a whole experience. The restrooms are clean and the people are friendly, what more could anyone want? But there is so much more. Buc-ee’s is full of surprises. Locations also have fun things other than food, such as dog parks, bike stations, Buc-ee’s clothing and toys, home decor, and hunting/fishing gear!
There is a lot to consider about this possible new development, but it sure is exciting. The good things that a Buc-ee’s would bring to our community, such as hundreds of jobs, is enough to make me hope this all works out.
