NEW: First-in-the-state night golf course coming to Gadsden
A brand-new golfing experience is headed to Alabama: night golf.
The Gadsden City Council approved lighting nine holes on the city’s golf course—and we have the details.

The city council greenlit (pun intended) the move during their August 20th meeting.
Specifically, the council finalized an agreement with The EE Group Inc. to retrofit the back nine holes of Twin Bridges Golf Club with lights bright enough to play at night.
The course is still in the planning stages, but city officials hope to have it open for next summer.
The project fits nicely into the GROW Gadsden Initiative, an ambitious plan to reinvigorate the Gadsden area by upgrading city parks, establishing walking trails and sprucing up the riverfront area.
“This is something that came up with our recent GROW Gadsden comprehensive plan, and it’s a great quality of life project to continue making Gadsden a fun place.”
Mayor Craig Ford, City of Gadsden
The Twin Bridges Golf Club is located near the Silver Lake Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail stop—so the lit course offers golfers in town to try the RTJ course a new experience on the green.
