Even though Jimmy Buffett unfortunately passed away in September 2023, this Alabama legend’s memory lives on in his beachy music and iconic resort and restaurant, Margaritaville.
Gulf Shores residents, this is where you get excited. Legendary Marina & Yacht Club will be home to its very own Margaritaville restaurant. Here’s what you need to know.
The new Margaritaville in Gulf Shores
Given that Buffett was raised in Mobile, it only makes sense that the only Margaritaville property in Alabama would come to the Gulf Coast area.
This location will be a Margaritaville restaurant, and it will be part of a larger development called Legendary Marina and Yacht Club.
According to a release from the marina, the “Topping Off Event” for the development, held on October 13, was well-attended by officials and community leaders. One of the best parts, though? The announcement that Margaritaville is on its way to Gulf Shores.
“We have enjoyed our working experience with the City of Gulf Shores in the creation of what will eventually be the Town Center of Gulf Shores including a festive marketplace and entertainment center anchored with a wet and dry marine complex.”

The marina, set to open in early 2024, will include access to the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay, boat storage, dining, entertainment, a pool, a clubhouse and more.
What you can expect at the new Margaritaville
If you’re not familiar with Margaritaville, first of all, you’re missing out. Second of all, here’s the vibe:
