New Mobile Pro Hockey asking public to help name the team

Have you ever wanted to name a professional sports team? Now is your chance.
Back in September, the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced they would expand into Mobile in 2027, just in time for the opening of the new $300 million Mobile Civic Center.
Hockey is returning to the Port City after the Mobile Mysticks disbanded operations and moved to Georgia more than two decades ago.
Obviously, one of the first tasks for the new Mobile Pro Hockey Team is its name. This week, the club reminded folks to put on their thinking “helmets” to help them out.
Below are some of the suggestions from fans via Facebook:
- Mobile Torpedoes
- IceKrewe
- Ice Dragons
- Jesters
- Mobile Hardheads
- Mobile Leprechauns
And of course, many commenters want to keep the Mysticks name.
