New music accelerator from Hatch Fairhope accepting applications
Reading time: 2 minutes

A new accelerator has been created to help Alabama musicians get started in the industry.
Hatch, a tech accelerator based in Fairhope, has opened applications for a 12-week program which will take artists through the creation, production + business side of the industry.
The program is looking for 20 artists to work with over three months, helping each of them produce a ready-to-release track along with a marketing strategy that includes connecting them with Hatch’s partner network of labels and promoters.
The application process is open now with four spots already taken. Hatch asks for what kind of instruments you play along with which genres you prefer + it allows you to submit any music samples you have already recorded.
Applications are due by Nov. 1.
12-week program
Hatch has laid out the schedule for the program, showing what artists can expect to across three months. The plan includes:
- Creative Foundation (Weeks 1-3): This section will focus on the writing, curating and publishing phase of the music industry.
- Studio Phase (Weeks 4-6): Artists will start to feel like professionals, working in a studio setting with pre-prodcution, recording and post-production.
- Release Phase (Weeks 7-12): The second half of the program will be about building a name in the music industry including marketing, distribution and career steps.
It will wrap up with every artist completely producing an original music track with steps to create their own music career.
