At this point, you’ve probably heard about the pickleball craze or even tried it out for yourself. One Opelika local is taking her love for the sport even further with the opening of Dink & Volley—a local store dedicated to pickle ball equipment and merch. Here’s what you need to know.

The owner of Dink & Volley is Auburn University alumnus Deirdre Hill. She decided to open her pickle ball shop after returning to Auburn in 2022 and picking up pickleball there. She got involved in the community and found that there wasn’t a place to find people experienced with the different types of paddles and gear.

With Opelika’s thriving pickle ball scene—including an impressive 24-court pickleball pavilion and ever-growing Opelika Pickleball Club—she saw an opportunity to open a store dedicated to the sport. Here’s a look at what Dink & Volley offers:

  • Paddles
  • Covers
  • Grips + guards
  • Bags
  • Balls
  • Pickleball apparel
  • Court accessories
  • Court towels
  • Pickleball home goods + stationery

They even have pickleball jewelry! If you’re a big fan of the sport or just getting started, Dink & Volley is a one-stop-shop. Hill hopes that not only will the store be a place for locals, but also a spot that attracts out-of-town visitors coming to the Auburn area for pickleball tournaments and game days.
